all began with one my colleague....

she got a cake for me last fri.. and a small gift

really sweet, considering i onli see her twice a week for half day

dinner date with another colleague

It's been a long while.........
a long while since i blogged........

well.. perhaps laziness has taken over me
mani things have happened
life has been good.. work is fine... boss is nice..
still.. life is never a bed of roses...
when there are ups, there will be downs..

how affected am i? i do not know...
i guess i'm fine and dainty (dainty reminds me of forrest gump movie)
y dwell when it gets you no where...
permanent or prolong dwelling is detrimental..

juz read SZ's blog...
am glad somehow i'm still mentioned

well... it's about making the effort..
how true
i never intend to draw a line..
i dunno why some drew a line..
yet some care still..
which is heartwarming

perhaps i din try enough?
perhaps i feel out?
perhaps the group is so exclusive that i dunno how to be in again after such a long while..
i can't do it alone..
i always tot its easier for a group to welcome an individual
instead of an individual tryin to blend in..

been a long while since i last blog..
been wanting to blog 'bout my HKG trip a while back
went there for AP sales meeting, asia pacific
met up with GSA, general sales agents from seoul, taipei, shanghai, beijing, thailand, hongkong, singapore, jakarta
lots of japanese as well..

DAY 1

went in to help my hongkong AP colleague..
helped out with the meeting materials
their photocopier damn off la.. cui sia
took me so long to figure out how to photocopy double side..
hahahaha =P
nothing eventful, dinner wif some jap and hongkong pple.
had some beer.. some goose etc.

DAY 2

met lena, boss and mayvia for breakfast
today is the actual meeting
got 20 of us.. from 930am till 5pm
pengz.. surprisingly i stayed awake
went for a short shopping spree wif mayvia and lena
bought a nice esprit pants.. I LIKE~~ =P
dinner was the highlight!!!
had dinner at this very nice restaurant.
like 10 over dishes.. like wedding banquet style like tt
we had our own function room..
DEN.. the HIGHLIGHT!!!
JAPANESE can REALLY DRINK...
they started drinking..
they poured a glass of beer, then put chopsticks on the glass
den balance 1 hard liquor shot on top
den bang the table, then shot will fall into the beer,
then drink it all up!!!

OH MY!!!!
SO DAMN EXCITING..

first time i see ma.. hahahaha
helped to hit the table also.
DEN.. had to drink also la..

a bit weird.. but was okie.. ate somemore
den felt better..

and no feeling... hahahahaha

tt was really an eye opener..
but no worries..
i'm not a drinker =P

DAY 3

went back home in the morning..
GOT ON cathay pacific (CX) BUSINESS CLASS..
oh my.. was excited la
but had to pretend cool 'bout it ma.. if not so mountain turtle
actually i blur blur de..
but really damn shuang
nice seat.. nice service.. nice food
watched chicago.. shuang
when they serve food.. so AMAZING la..
they will lay table cloth, then take in dish by dish..
addressed u by ur name.. etc
EVEN the drinking glass is nice loh..
not those plastic cup.. but nice glass
i juz like the feeling..
so enjoying it la =P

tt's a very brief summary of my HKG trip..
not too bad.. met some pretty cute japanese..
old nice funny men.. hahahaha
got some quite charming one.. lalalalala =P
but all old men.. hahahaha

been procrasinating 'bout organising the meet up

stef went US for work travel for close to 3-4 mths

stella went for 1 sem exchange in sweden..

we din meet for close to half a yr

FINALLY..

anyway.. had to finish up 1 more agent interview.
that is not the end oh
had to visit shippers as well

from lunch till 4 plus (flight @ 6 plus)
HOW PACKED!!!!
my boss function this way..

u know how tiring..
normally boss does all the talking..
so imagine i have to sit in with all the shippers
and listen to the same old things..
but i guess is as bad saying the same things so many times..

Agents interview today..
wakie early to hotel buffet breakfast..

1st agent candidate TOTALLY stun us la..
SUPER SUPER DUPER PRO can..
big nice conference room..
name tags.. plates of fruits.. nice fork.. projector.. speaker..
ALL the TOP MANAGEMENT..
i'm truly overwhelmed..
wasn't in my best attire.. *bleahZ*
feel so like a kid.. ARGHH!!
they gave us goodie bag somemore can..

even my boss was impressed.. but we tot it was quite unnecessary..
seem like they wan to impress..
or perhaps.. to be polite *shrug*
but i'm blown away by the experience!!!
travel to n fro for interview..
asked the same questions.. listen to similar presentations..
had tonnes of coffee.. water.. snacks etc..
lunch wif some agents as well..
had nice chinese food!!

was SO TIRING..

the beef they cooked nicely for us le..

so he told theresa n me to go hard rock cafe meet his friends from last nite

after dinner already 8 plus lo.. but went ahead to hard rock
initially was worried like weird since boss not around
not as if we know his friends well enough

nothin fancy la.. juz like a chill out place loh
den met with the friends..
SURPRISINGLY.. i enjoyed the company..
though they are decades older
the group are asian.. malaysian.. singaporean.. etc

seem like.. expats in MNL, they meet up..
chill, drink, food, pool
very simple gathering.. juz chilling out
the thing is i dun do all these back home..
i mean.. most i done are dinners.. chill @ nice coffee or dessert place..
but i guess, when u r overseas
the stuffs they do.. just seem so common and right
so long as u know your limit..
it's amazing how i find expats so charming
the AURA around them.. the way they talk..
the way they present themselves
their confidence that just flow
it's so addictive!
i wish i can be like them when i grow older..
to experience and learn like them
but m i strong enough? well.. time will tell
maybe.. just maybe..

anyway.. I HAD MUD PIE!!!! pengz shared it wif theresa and boss's friend
girls love dessert u know =P
sat till 11 plus den left for massge.
anyway, along the way, i was left alone with them in hardrock cafe
cause theresa left a while to drop her labtop in hotel
but the feeling was okie.. i felt alright with them
ANYWAY.. went massage..

MUCH BETTER than mine in thailand can
at least i'm sure the gender of the person who massage me

it was an EVENTFUL plane ride..

first time turbulence till i wanna throw up in the plane..

yes.. it was TT BAD!! even my boss said was horrible..

apparently.. MNL was havin typhoon.. n we experienced the aftermath of it

*phew*

upon arrival.. got this lady fetched us..

WE DIN HAF TO JOIN THE LONG QUEUE!!!

treated like some diplomat/royalties la..

SO IN MNL.. it pays to know the RIGHT PPLE!!

tt was my first taste of "Special treatment"..

not so resentful afterall.. *hee hee*

made my way to the first agent visit.. kept raining..

was just a simple meeting in a small little room..

head on to hotel in town.. stayed in a super grand hotel..

NICEY NICE!! cause muz stay in safe district in MNL de..

so only have few good hotels to choose from.. NOT COMPLAINING!! =P

really convenient.. shopping malls juz opposite.

1st nite dinner was CRAB FEAST!!!

the crab super super big kind..

3 of us.. 3 crabs.. 3 crab bistro soup..

HEAVENLY!!! *shuang ultimate*

it's a crab place.. with live piano and live singing..

feels real good.. very different from the crab eating back home..

this juz feel more classy.. more relaxed. *loving it*

head on to visit my boss friends.. singaporean lady married a french diplomat..

stayed in MNL for 10+yrs.. wif 3 kids.

SUPER nice lady.. very easy to talk to.

it seem like when u r overseas.. when u meet local singaporean..

you can just talk.. at least for my MNL trip..

it was this way.

talking to them provided me with new perspective in life..

to understand that things don't always stay rosy and happy

life is unpredictable and when it hits you.. it hits you hard

you just have to react at that moment in the best manner you can..

how sad.. how true..

i feel for them.. i understood the reality

sometimes..

one just has to be strong and keep moving on..

meeting up with them was valuable to me..

new thoughts.. new understanding..

it was a good experience.

went out for dinner wif papa mama jie n bro-in-law..
simple dinner but meant quite a fair deal
considering the fact i seldom dine with my papa n mama
so it was good.. to spend some time with them again
though not long.. but it meant something

he brought me to the krisflyer lounge la..
den i was like.. "WAHZZ" first time eh..
tot normally it cater to first class passengers..
they serve free food n all.. damn shuang
the flight there was nothing eventful..
watched this funny skating movie on SQ
when we arrived, we took a cab to hotel for check in first..
along the way.. boss was tell me 'bout all the places he been to
south africa, road trip in america, turkey..
all the exotic places.. u name it.. he's been to most!!!
*envious* he was telling me which places to go n all
den he said.. if i love to travel.. i'm in the right industry.. hehehe

meeting took the whole day loh.. so tiring can.. almost doze off at some parts!!

hehehe.. went to walk walk there cause got nite market also..

den i was on the phone wif jie.. when she/he came knocking..

i open the door.. I WAS LIKE *GLARE*

today is back @ jett 8 office..
the last time i went there was my first day of work..
tt is like 2 weeks ago..
when i arrived.. jett 8 colleagues were like asking where i disappeared to..
hahaha.. true.. i hasn't been around much..
as a matter of fact.. today i went in..
tml i will be out again.. till fri..
been flying quite a bit..
not as much as my boss though.. his is MADDNESS..

went lunch wif this agent n my boss and the jett 8 boss n senior management..
ate @ a nearby chinese restaurant..
FATTENING la..
i think my job really will make me grow fat can.. pengz
den they talk n talk.. den i listen n listen..
this is call "entertaining" over lunch..
anyway i got a lot of free time to waste.. so ya.. i dun mind~

after HKG trip.. went back to NCA singapore office
located @ Singapore Airfreight Center
Near Changi V..
Met up with the accounts, admin, operation n sales pple of NCA
some pple worth mentioning..

accounts/admin: Joan
finally met up with her..
she settled most of my admin stuffs
very nice lady.. think got close to 40+
quite motherly as well..
gotten me my office mobile phone as well...
yes.. now i carry 2 phones.. pengz
she gave me a lift to park way after work..
she bought back yummi lunch..
she gossips as well!!! *Excited* =P

Sales: Lena & Mutya
Lena should be 40+, mutya 20+/30
lena is the boss of mutya
mutya came from Philippines
i love their company..
mutya very nice and friendly, can chat with her
Lena shared a lot of the industries with me
brought me to meet agents
taught me quite a fair bit
truly enjoyed being with them..

In short.. I LOVE BEING IN NCA SIN OFFICE..
though got age gap.. is always nice to be with them
for them to share trade stuffs.. for gossip.. for normal life stuffs..
i miss having gal colleagues..
my office at changi north mainly men.. OLD men..
got 1 gal, cherry.. a few yrs older.. not too bad
still can talk..
but i'm secretly wishing more time in NCA SIN OFFICE!!

suppose to start work @ 9am..
BUT due to long bus journey.. always start around 930am..

love meeting the agents
can learn a lot, on wad u dunno n wad u need to know..
listen to these old ah ma n ah gong..
see how zai they are in the industry..
laugh along.. nod along.. be interested (i'm a good listener loh)

Day 3 - 1st Aug

waffle breakfast.. YUMMY to max =P

my last day in HKG.. breakfast was good..

all packed n ready to check out

brought luggage to work..

today was a day of computer systems training by Naganuma-san

this cute middle age jap guy.. damn nice n patient

theresa n yammie brought me to the airport for a simple lunch

wanted to buy them lunch, but was rejected, got treated again..

nxt time when they come.. i shall play a good host as well

went back for phone conference wif GHQ (headquarters in Japan)

was so full n sleepy, couldn't keep my eyes open..

BUT!!!! lucky i'm well train in NTU.. hahahaha

think i manage to pretend to be awake *lalalalala*

trying to tie up whatever trainings i require..

left @ 6pm to catch flight..

Naganuma-san gave me a lift.. talked to him..

din know Jap guys r so nice de.. i mean.. different frm wad i tot

which is GOOD!!

check-in n did a bit of shopping..

den b4 i know it.. DIAO big time.. already like 710pm

N I"M HUNGRY LIKE MAD..

couldn't find LV shop n some stuffs for my jie

jie called me.. den told me to grab some food first in case i die of hunger haha

Off i went to hunt for food.. no problem la.. simple enough

ordered some dim sum.. n the horrid bao muz wait la..

waited super LONG can..tsk.. started eating like 720pm..

FLIGHT is @ 8PM can.. pengz

left the place for my boarding gate @ bout 735pm

den walk n walk.. far like hell sia.. den i found out..

MUZ TAKE A TRAIN TO THE BOARDING GATE!!

was cursing over the phone to my jie la.. OFF!!! plus my legs hurt a lot..

wore wrong shoes.. damn high la the shoes!! *ARGHH*

den den.. i reached the correct place close to 745pm can..

den i rush like mad la.. den saw this air stewardess..

she holding my flight no.. den i looked at her den smile smile

she came forward n asked if i boarding the CX plane..

the conversation goes:

stewardess: Hi, are you flying via this plane?

me: yes. sorry for being so late.

stewardess: YOU ARE THE LAST PASSENGER TO BOARD. come with me

me: diao big time.. OPS!!!!

den we had to walk damn fast... my feet almost died..

true enough.. I"M THE LAST!!! lalalalala

ZAI RITE!!! =P damn diao loh.. but quite exciting.. hahahaha

typical things tt will happen to rene rite =P

the plane ride was uneventful..

watched my favourite forrest gump again..

my all time favourite.. think it's the 5th time i watched it

so sad at some parts *Teary eyes* hahaha

den the DUMBEST thing when i touched down.. damn late loh.. 11 plus at nite

i went to clear customs ma..

den i GONG GONG go quene at the wrong place la..

got a few rows specially for singaporeans.. i go quene at the visitors..

PENGZ!!!! took me damn long can!!!!! ARGHHHHH how DUMB!!!!

den i still stand in line.. wait n wait.. too late by the time i realised!!

OFF!!!!!

den took taxi home also wait super long.. pengz

got back 'bout 1pm.. jie waited up for me.. damn nice

she shoo me off to bed without unpacking..

cause NXT DAY GOT WORK.. =P

the trip was really fast..

time flies..

before i know it.. i was back in town again

this trip has been an eye opener..

i was intially more afraid den excited to go..

when my papa "nag" me.. i feel so sad..

they worry so much.. they wanted me out of the job

so i wun fly away from home..

i admit i m afraid as well.. afraid to be alone..

but after this trip.. the hotel room totally make me damn shuang

hahahahaha serious can!!

i mean.. i grew.. i'm no longer afraid..

i shall learn to adapt..

regional work really expose you to different pple..

how to interact.. how to learn to be alone..

i'm looking forward to more..

this airline industry is tough.. but i'm going tough as well..

Day 2 - 31st July

wakie to haf breakfast in bed..

had room service, already decided wad to order last nite..

i like to plan my meals ahead.. hee

poured myself some milk den started eating le oh..

den.. FINALLY!!!!

i found the office.. diao big time la.. damn BLUR can.. pengz

work was to observe the resevation guy Ivan..

see how he talked to agents and allocate place space for their cargo

juz sat beside him.. tryin to understand canto.. and asking smart n silly questions

lunch wif theresa and the big bosses.. had dim sum on the 6th floor

ordered a lot.. YUMMILICIOUS!! =P

the day passed wif Ivan.. learnt quite a bit on reservation side..

tt nite theresa n yammie brought me out for dinner..

took MTR to kowloon.. den took cab to this dining restaurant

reached there close to 8pm.. pengz my gastric was acting up le

dinner was @ this traditional restaurant

food damn nice.. ordered quite a lot for 3 ladies

"1 cold crab; braised duck n tofu; oyster egg; pig intestin soup; veg; dessert (dao suan look-a-like)"

super full.. chatted quite a bit wif them.. company was quite nice

finished close to 10pm

reached back hotel like 11pm..

theresa was a superb host.. she coming SIN next fri..

she made sure i got MTR tixs.. paid for all my meals n all..

jie called me when i got back.. was nice to hear from my family..

den 2nd day ended in a breeze.. no time to shop

but had fun nontheless

went out to walk around near the hotel..

jie's friend not free to meet cause inform her too last min

around my hotel got this big big shopping center

shops were alright.. like orchard shopping

rather high end.. but got discount..

walked around.. nothing really catches my eyes

got "lost" a few times

keep walking to deadends..

den can't find decent local food.. a lot of western n all..

very much like singapore..

out of desperation.. cause can't find nice canto food..

while the rest are those too fancy restaurant.. some r ice-cream n all..

decided to go in alone @ the spagheiti house

was surprised i will wan to enter n eat alone..

normally i'm nt tt kind..

think this trip makes me grow a bit..

in a sense tt i may be on to better handle the feeling of alone..

the feeling was nt resentful..

surprisingly.. rather peaceful like..

nothing wrong being along n eating alone..

maybe i'm coming to terms.. maybe

Business Trip to HongKong oh..

more like training..

papa fetched me to airport.. "nag" all the way.. but i kinda like it

den did an online check in so got the tix real fast

jie called to make sure me okie oh..

met Rodney, my boss @ the airport for short briefing b4 i leave
told me some office latest happenings..

explained stuffs to me.. brief me for work in HKG

taking flight from SIN (singapore) was a breeze

though the police threw my small mineral bottle away

DAMN!

my jie gave me to bring to HKG to use..

den i forgot to pour the water out.. OFF!

On the CX (cathay) flight, 2 gals sat beside me

it happen to be my JC school mate

but she dun seem to know me.. diao hahaha

basically, my job is to sell cargo space, but i'm not doing direct selling..

but working wif agents.. so haf to understand the whole cargo airline business..

work started from 12am - 8am
but was lucky, first 2 nites came home @ 7am
last nite best! reached home @ 4am

well.. some may wonder why i'm starting a blog. hah.. acutally, i'm a really LAZY person. I have the tendency to slack off after a while.. so whether or not this blog will last shall depends, i will try my best to blog as and when i can, at least it helps to keep my friends updated about my life.

One thing is.. this blog is pretty general, mostly will be blogging about my work, my life etc. but nothing too personal. To me, i can't seem to relate 100% of my true feelings in my blog.. because i will never know who will be reading all tt I will be posting..

been thinking it through of starting my own blog, since i got friends who have been bugging me to start one. so i think it's time to be less stubborn and a little bit more hardworking to keep in touch wif friends. (hopefully they dun boycott my blog) hahaha
